Armenia

The Homeland! My mother, brother, and I took a 13 day trip to Armenia in 2024. We were the first in our family to go back since the genocide of 1915. â€‹

This trip allowed us to steep ourselves in our rich heritage and culture. Yerevan is a dynamic city with much to offer!  Lots of museums, markets, wonderful cafés and parks, an opera house, the illustrious Cascade, and artwork incorporated into the walkways and byways.

Additionally, the nightlife of Yerevan is not to be underestimated, with great restaurants, bars, and clubs.

The country of Armenia is stunning with natural beauty we hadn't anticipated. It has the mountains of Switzerland, the greenery of Ireland, and the rugged stone formations of the American West.

As the first Christian nation, monasteries dating back to 301 AD are sprinkled throughout the land.  The Armenians not only fill the churches to the brim on Sundays, but attend church on a daily basis and regard the experience with incredible reverence seldom seen elsewhere.

For us, we left Armenia feeling liberated. It finally allowed us to feel less tethered to the horrific past and instead more celebrating how the Armenians are living, enjoying and cherishing their lives today!

Below I have gathered some information on our travels, hotel stays, restaurants, itinerary, and more!
